My doctor is good and building is very nice , but administrative staff is unprofessional and borderline incompetent. Took them half a year to fix my birth date in their system which they entered incorrectly. Never call you back when they say they will (recurring theme), including for prescription refills, forcing you to call back to check on things frequently. Phone staff is quick to try and get rid of you without trying to understand your problem, and you end up getting sent to a voice mail of someone who NEVER calls you back. Took them 2 weeks to book my CT scan with their own affiliate , york hospital, only after I called them every day for a week did they follow through on the appointment (never apologized). Also, I have found York Hospital to charge higher fees than other hospitals in Maine, and above the state average. I submitted multiple inquiries via telephone and website feedback as to why my CT Scan cost $2,500 when the average cost in Maine is $1,500-$2000 , but nobody got back to me. Seems there is no ownership of inbound inquiries and customer service is not a priority. Very frustrating experience being a patient of this organization.
Staff & providers are great here. You can tell it's part of York Hospital (NOT Portsmouth Hospital) by the way they treat every patient with dignity and respect! They are fast, have done an excellent job and are extremely polite & caring!!! Something York Hospital is known for and Portsmouth Regional Hospital fails at EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
